Itinerary

  • Begin your day with an hour drive from Accra to Aburi in the morning to have a glimpse of the beautiful hills that surround the Akwapim townships. You will be privileged to see some scenic views of Accra from up the hills. For hiking opportunities, you can equally take a walk from the Aburi-Oyarifa toll-booth along the road to the top of the hills.
  • Make a stop at the popular Aburi Craft Village which is a great place for beautiful crafts ranging from wooden sculpture of masks, carved animals, to beadwork, fabrics and many more. You can buy these items at affordable prices and your guide will be happy to help you bargain. Proceed to tour the natural and beautiful Aburi Botanical Gardens which is home to local and foreign trees and some well-designed lawns as well as other animal species. Bicycles and Quad bikes are available for an extra fee in the gardens.
  • Continue on an 8.3km drive from Aburi to Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farms. This was the first cocoa farm in Ghana and the birthplace of Ghana’s flourishing cocoa industry. The original seedlings were brought from Fernando Po Island just off the coast of Equatorial Guinea by Tetteh Quarshie himself in 1879.
