Built in 1957, the Adomi Bridge at Atimpoku was Ghana’s first permanent bridge across the Volta River as the nation prepared for independence. Its striking steel arch remains an engineering landmark and a symbol of unity, connecting communities in the Eastern and Volta Regions. Travelers often stop here on the way to the Volta Lake, and many add it to our Volta Region tours for river cruises, cultural visits, and breathtaking scenery.
