- Begin your Homecoming journey with an early morning departure from Accra to the coastal town of Cape Coast. Your first stop is at Kakum National Park, home to Ghana’s highest canopy walkway. This is a birdwatcher’s paradise in the morning, offering the chance to spot a variety of bird species while enjoying the breathtaking forest views.
- Next, head to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Cape Coast Castle, one of the most significant slave castles from the Gold Coast era. A professional guide will walk you through the castle’s haunting history. For those of African descent, take part in the emotional “Door of Return Ceremony,” a symbolic gesture marking your reconnection with your African roots.
- Your final stop is in the historic fishing village of Elmina, where local fishermen bring their daily catch ashore. Explore Elmina Castle, the first European slave-trading post in sub-Saharan Africa (guided tours are available for an additional fee).
