Itinerary
Day 01 :
Flight to Tamale, Shea Butter, Community Walk, Mole Park Night Safari
- Start your day with a pick-up for your domestic flight from Accra to Tamale. When you arrive, your friendly guide will welcome you to begin your Northern Ghana wildlife tour.
- After your airport pickup, begin your tour with an exciting local Shea butter lesson. Learn how local women transform Shea nuts into pure, natural butter using age-old techniques, and try your hand at making your own blend.
- Continue your tour with a community walk at Janikura, where you’ll explore traditional mud buildings with thatch roofs, interact with friendly locals and discover the secrets of herbal medicine passed down through generations. As the day ends, get ready for a night safari at Mole National Park to see the park’s nocturnal animals. After your adventure, relax at your lodge by the pool and reflect on your amazing experiences.
Day 02 :
Mole Drive Safari, Hippo Sanctuary, Village Walk, Drumming & Dancing
- Wake up to the sounds of nature and stunning views from your lodge at Mole National Park. Begin your morning with a guided safari drive led by a wildlife expert and spot elephants, buffalo, kob, warthogs, and monkeys in their natural habitat. After the safari, drive to the Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary, home to one of the few remaining hippo populations in Ghana. Enjoy a canoe ride on the Black Volta River and learn about local conservation efforts protecting these gentle giants.
- Continue to the remote village of Tolowana, located near the Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary. Take a brief village walk to learn about the rich Lobi culture, interact with locals, and experience their traditional way of life.
- End your day with a lively night of traditional drumming and dancing under a bonfire. Enjoy the rhythms, connect with local performers, and celebrate their vibrant culture before going to rest for the night.
Day 03 :
Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary, Bird Watching, Mole National Park Night Safari
- Start your morning with hippo and bird watching on the White Volta River. Glide quietly along the water in a canoe as you spot hippos, colorful bird species and other wildlife while enjoying the peaceful beauty of the river.
- After your morning watch, take a scenic drive back to Mole National Park. Enjoy views of rural landscapes and small villages along the way as you return to the park for rest and relaxation.
- End your day with a thrilling night safari at Mole National Park, where you’ll have the chance to spot nocturnal animals in their natural habitat.

Day 04 :
Mole National Park, Larabanga Mosque, Kotoka Airport Drop-Off
- Wake up at Mole National Park, enjoy a morning walking safari and get ready to head back to Accra. Take a moment to enjoy the beautiful scenery and remember your adventure in this wildlife haven.
- After your morning at Mole National Park, visit the historic Larabanga Mosque, one of West Africa’s oldest mosques built in the 15th century. Learn about its rich Islamic heritage and unique Sudano-Sahelian architecture. Continue to Tamale for your domestic flight back to Accra, marking the end of your Northern adventure.
- When you arrive, your guide will meet you at the domestic arrival hall and take you to the international departure hall or your drop-off point in Accra. This is the perfect end to your amazing adventure in Ghana. KEEP GHANA IN YOUR HEART!
